Our Story

Our Story

Born in Africa, crafted for the world.

Inga Africa is a celebration of heritage, artistry, and luxury. Every piece is hand made by skilled artisans who turn calf leather into timeless expressions of pride, elegance, and identity.

Inspired by the richness of African culture and designed with a contemporary global perspective, our creations are more than accessories. They are stories carried from one generation to the next.

The maker

Inga Africa began with the conviction that luxury made on the African continent deserves a place on the global stage. Not luxury as label, but luxury as practice. The careful selection of leather. The slow finishing of edges by hand. The decision to do less, slower, more deliberately.

The atelier sits in South Africa. Every piece that leaves it has been cut, stitched, and finished by a person whose name we know.

The names

Each piece in the house is named for a word in an African language. Inkosikazi is the isiZulu word for a woman of stature. Binti is the Kiswahili word for girl. Iculo is the isiZulu word for song. Akisiti is the Amharic word for aunt. Mobembo is the word for travel in Lilanga, a language spoken in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The names were chosen with care. They are how we keep the meaning of each object close to its maker.

What we believe

True luxury is not defined by labels. It is defined by craftsmanship, by authenticity, and by the pride of owning something made by hand, with purpose, in Africa. Every Inga piece is shaped by that belief.
